what means "spring effect"?

Hi everyone,

On my fanatec dd2 wheel i am tweaking all day different settings to my liking.
Also spring effect is included but if i turned it off or all the way up theres no difference.
I tested with ACC.

anyone knows exactly what it does? thanks

It controls the amount of force exerted to bring the wheel back to centre. Many sims do not use it.

Already thought this, Thanks! I saw indeed that it did this without activate spring effect.

Its good for drift and rally games where u need to change fast direction.
