Why was my thread deleted?

I posted a thread in the Sim Racing Hardware sub-forum and was notified that it was pending approval (which I can understand). However, I can no longer see the thread anymore, and can only assume it's been deleted. I thought the thread was posted in the correct place, and would - at the very least - like an explanation as to why it was removed.

Also, if it's not too much of a bother, I'd also like to have a copy of the post, too. I put a bit of effort into it, but didn't save a draft on my PC. If I had known there was a possible chance of deletion, I'd have kept copy for myself.

Oops, I didn't realize that. I genuinely thought it was deleted, since I wasn't able to find it.

That thread was visible to me at the time of posting, although it was marked with a shield to indicate that it was pending approval. I thought it would remain as it was while awaiting review.

As such, I'd like to suggest a small change, which is to keep the threads pending moderator approval to be visible to the original poster. It'd help remove any doubt to users like me who'd immediately jump to the wrong conclusions.

One last question: in the event of a disapproval, would the user be notified as to why it was rejected?
