WRC 2014: Acropolis out, Poland in.

Ranked as the world’s toughest and roughest rallies, the gravel event has been replaced by Rally Poland, which has appeared on the WRC calendar on two previous occasions, but has more recently qualified for the European championship.

Financial issues have dogged the Acropolis Rally for several years, with the weakened state of the Greek economy clouding its future. Although event bosses revealed increased support from the regional government plus plans to expand the route during June’s running, their efforts have been to no avail.
