Xbox Controller settings

I need help with my xbox controller settings. Anybody that has a gamepad of any kind please can you share your settings?

Please don't tell me to get a wheel because I move often so getting a wheel setup isn't an option.

Can I ask what is wrong with the default settings? On a daily basis I use an xbox pad as well, but I just stick it to the default settings.

The default steering setting was too nervous for me.

How come with x360 wireless the controller works as mouse pointer in menu(really badly too), and i can't use mouse as it moves automatically above the screen?
