The raceway is located in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, along its bypass road and next to another race track, High Mountain. It has been designed by the famous race track architect Hermann Tilke. Until the 2009 racing season, amateur races, drift sessions and test drives were held there. In 2010, the raceway was rebuilt and renamed to KAZANRING CANYON, ready to host all-Russian and world championships. As at Moscow Raceway, the racetrack goes counterclockwise, with a length of 3476 m and up to 28 m elevation.
It was agreed that KAZANRING CANYON would add up to the virtual racing world in first half of 2022, then SMP Racing development team took the lead. One of its main features - elevation change - was recreated with special precision and trepidation. The first race track modification was introduced for RSKG stage and offline races. It was used during mass races on SMP Racing simulators on July 31, 2022, right at the real KAZANRING raceway as part of eRSKG championship. By mid-November, special versions were released for the offline finals of the RAF Cup and test competitions of Games of Future.
