Road America is a road course located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on Wisconsin Highway 67. It has hosted races since September 1955 to the present day.
It is a permanent road course and it is located midway between the cities of Milwaukee and Green Bay.
Road America is one of only a hand-full of road circuits in the world maintaining its original configuration. It is 4.048 miles (6.515 km) in length and has 14 turns.
The track is very interesting because of its many elevation changes, along with a long front stretch where speeds approaching 200 mph (300 km/h) may be reached. One of the best known features of this course is a turn on the backside known as "the kink."
This track was originally done for GPL & GTL by Strava. I'd like to thank Strava for giving me permission to convert this track to GTR2, as it is my favourite version of Road America.
One condition asked was that I keep all the original textures so people could experience it as it was originally released for GPL. The only changes I have made (with permission) are the spectators in the grandstands. It also contains the new Control Tower from Strava's latest rFactor release.
