505 Games has posted responses to the most commonly asked questions concerning the upcoming release of Assetto Corsa Competizione on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Less than one week remains before Kunos and 505 Games releases the definitive GT3 and GT4 simulator to the 9th generation consoles. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Assetto Corsa Competizione will be released digitally on the 22nd of February, with the Day 1 boxed edition coming two days later.
Kunos’ aim with the 9th gen releases is to take advantage of the more powerful hardware available in the most recent editions of the Sony and Microsoft consoles. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of ACC are currently available, but the updated version will allow larger fields of cars and 4K/60fps gameplay.
There were a few answers within 505’s FAQ that may surprise some users. Firstly, the updates will be launched at version 1.7, not the 1.8+ version PC players are currently running. Also, fields of cars both online and offline will be limited to 30 entries, and driver swaps won’t be possible.
Perhaps most notably, 505 has restated that the PS5 and XBSX versions are free upgrades for those who own the current console versions. Additionally, any DLC you currently own will carry over to the new version.
A few welcome treats with the launch on gen 9 consoles are included. FOV sliders are somewhat of a rarity in the console racing world, but ACC will include one. Custom lobbies are also part of the title at launch, and all of the DLC currently on offer to PC players will be available to purchase for PS5 and XBSX. Players will be able to enjoy maximum graphics settings while playing at 4K and 60 frames per second.
