EA Sports WRC
will release 3 November, with pre-orders available for the game now and three days early access for those who do. The new title is the first under the control of Codemasters and EA Sports, the former of which developed the DIRT Rally games.

We have already got a full breakdown of the car list, which you can read here. This includes cars from various categories and eras of the World Rally Championship. But now we know which rally stages will be present in the game, both at launch and post launch.

There are 2,400 combined kilometres across tarmac, gravel, mud and snow. So without further ado, here’s the full list of each rally and individual stage.

In proper news, how many stages are there per rally? Not counting split and reverse versions.
I've inferred that most rallies have two (distinctly unique, not two halves of one IRL stage like in DR). When a rally does only have one, it's an epic length stage (at least 25km, usually 30+) and the shorter variants can use side roads to maintain some level of uniqueness.

Yeah Ive played plenty of DR2 to know, didnt expect them to be so lazy again. DR2 is great but the stages are repetative. I dont even bother with the short versions anymore so have even fewer stages per location to run

Not sure how lazy I would call it. They seemingly still recreate real stages.
Had they just made fictional stages, I would've agreed.

All rallies have 2 long stages ;)

EDIT: Long being quite varying. Long in Chile and long in Kenya is very different.

I cannot tell where the 2nd long stage in Chile might be if there is one;

Bio Bío (34.72 km)
Arauco (34.79 km)

The epic stage, run in both directions.

Coronel (17.97 km)
Lota (16.73 km)
Santa Juana (16.87 km)

All look to be half of the epic stage, run in 3 out of 4 possible directions.

Los Angeles (10.79 km)
San Rosendo (10.08 km)
Laja (7.87 km)
Yumbel (7.75 km)
Florida (8.21 km)
Hualqui (8.09 km)
Reputo (8.53 km)

And these lengths make the most sense if the half stages are split into quarters + side roads, with 7 out of 8 possible directions used. My comment on side roads is based on Mexico's list, where some of the sprints include sand even though the main epic stage doesn't.

Compare this with places like Monte Carlo or Finland, where it's easy to see that stages 1-6 and 7-12 are two separate places in the rally.

If they add a fictional version of Wales and Germany, i might buy it. Although, there should be no need for fictional locations. It's a WRC game and those are locations that were included in the Championship not long ago. Last time i checked country names and stages didn't have copyrights....

Can't deny that what you are saying makes sense.
At the same time, it would be slightly strange to have it different between countries.

Codemasters where reportedly "asked nicely in a strong way" to not use WRC stages from current WRC rallies after DR. If that was KT, FIA or the Promoter who was unhappy, I have no idea.
They did use parts of real stages in DR 2.0 but then with non-real names.

This might, possibly be the "fictional rally" style here. Might be based on real stages.

In DR and DR 2.0 there were several stages modelled out of one real stage layout e.g. Ouninpohja and Panzerplatte. For Ouninpohja e.g. they divided the real stage into multiple parts and provided a reverse layout for each. Obviously they needed fictional names for each layout.

BTW: Panzerplatte changed layout very often over the years so DR composed some parts of some real layouts, not 100% real.

Both examples are stages from DR though, which was before the "kind advice" was given from what I read at the time ;)

Pacifico seems to be the Rally of Indonesia.

Yup. Before the stagenames etc. was revealed, I genuinely believed that all those extra rallies would be DR/DR2.0 rallies that's not a part of the current WRC calendar, so they could just re-use all stages and assets to beef up the WRC game.

Because they are half the long stage.

All rallies have 2 uniqe long stages. Run in both direction with different names = 4 long stages.

Each long stage is chopped in 2 shorter ones, to make 4 short ones.
They are also run both ways, so that is 8 short.

4 long, 8 short = 12 stages for every rally.
The long stages in Finland are 100% gravel, while some of the shorter ones also have dirt. If this is accurate, it obviously means that also some of the short stages are unique.

It could also mean that those shorter stages have a small detour on a dirt road, with 90% of the stage identical to the longer one.

If you look at the México stages you can see these "side roads" in some of them.

Yep, could very well be. Anyway, it's not entirely copy-paste, so it adds to the diversity. I think it's pretty good in any case, and still more track than in all other rally games known to man?

Aside from the RBR mod stages, yes the EA game is the one with most unique km up to now. Unfortunately they are continuing with the approach of "make long stages and chop them into bits", but for leagues play at least, if you take the 18 rallies and turn them into 9 by using two locations per rally I think it will be possible to create some interesting club events minimizing the repetition and monotony present in the DiRT Rallies. Something like this:

Monte Carlo/San Remo
Sweden/Norway
Mexico/Kenya
Croatia/Central European
Portugal/Sardegna
Estonia/Finland
Greece/Indonesia
Chile/New Zealand
Japan/Spain

I was a firm non-buyer after seeing the terrible official videos, but the Kalle video, and the fact they are lifting the gameplay embargo a full three weeks before release, has me on the fence again. I will wait until after launch to get "real" (non-influencer) impressions of the game before deciding.

But it is weird how a single two-minute video has taken me from "no way" to "let's see how it pans out". The official marketing campaign has been horrendous up until now.
