GRID Legends' Impressive Car List Revealed

GRID Legends Car List 01.jpg
GRID Legends shared an additional 53 cars that will be included in the upcoming title.

Among the many features that developer Codemasters hopes will make GRID Legends stand out in the field of racing games is a diverse field of vehicles. We now have more information on which cars will make up the roster across the many classes of cars.

The latest, and possibly last, teaser shared with us before launch is an updated car list with 53 new reveals. Multiple entries from Ferrari, Ford, Nissan and Porsche make up the bulk of the 53 vehicles, and there are some impressive cars spanning several eras of cars.

Only days remain until EA Play members will be able to play GRID Legends for the first time. The full public release is scheduled for the 25th of February, but EA Play members will get access on the 22nd.

Below is the list of cars shared by Codemasters. What are your impressions of the list? Are there cars you'll want to try? Any notable absences? Let us know in the comments below.

Some Sims should follow the example of the quality of the cars offered.
For me interesting cars are:

Ford GT GTE
NISSAN GT-R (SUPER GT GT500 Class Racing Car)
Renault Laguna Touring Car
Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept
Audi A4 quattro
Cadillac DPi-V.R
Mazda 787B
Opel Astra V8 Coupé
Volkswagen Golf GTI

I hope for a quality game like Grid autosport

I hope it’s like grid Autosport but I doubt they can make another game like that.

Lots of recycled cars from grid 2019 and pcars.

You saw the actual assets, or did you just assume the same cars are the actual same assets as used in those games?
I'm fairly confident a lot of them are the same: the Formula Ford lookalike and Clio Cup look identical to Project Cars' versions, the trophy truck is identical to the one in DiRT 4, the Focus TC2 and Audi A4 are from Grid Autosport, and that's from the gameplay footage I've seen, not just me looking at the car list and assuming "oh they must've ripped the RX7 Panspeed or the Panoz GTR1 or the Ginetta G40 or the....."
I mean it's not a bad thing to have this many cars but knowing that such a large chunk of them are just ported from previous games feels somewhat "quantity over quality" to me, especially accounting for the fact that Codemasters are no stranger to this (think the straight ports of DR1 content into DR2 as DLCs for instance)
It's whatever though I guess, the quality of the game matters more than the modelling team being fond of the Ctrl C and V keys, and hopefully it can at least deliver on that front

looks like an ancient skill of anti-aliasing isn't known to Codemasters tribe :)
I finally got to look at the screen shots on PC, and I see what you mean. Holy Cow! This looks like a job for DLSS or something. But I wonder, if the best image is a jaggy mess, then would DLSS/FSR/NIS be able to make it smooth?

Maybe I should just try running Quake 3 Arena with NIS enabled, and just look at the results...

ONLY the first Grid, I had so much fun, so many hours and laughs online... that was the best arcade racing game ever for me, I remember the trailer being so so great, music action, just like the game ...
I feel the same way. I had a blast with the original Grid and I raced only with Keyboard. I loved the crashes in this game too for the time.

This was around the time I started getting into 'proper simulators' as well. Now classics, like GT Legends, GTR 1&2, RBR.

I remember distinctly finding it fascinating how much more precise you had to be with these other games. It was basically impossible to drive with the keyboard in these. It was what made me invest in my first crappy wheel and finally jumped into club racing. Those were some great times.

I prefer quality over quantity
It'll probably be for kids and casual racers looking to 'waste' a few hours.
There is no way they could possibly model the physics for that many cars.
Still...it is good to have some 'vehicle' for youngsters to gain interest in motorsport.
They may one day migrate past the casual stuff.

Exactly. This is the type of game to get kids excited about motorsports and something a parent or grandparent can buy easily from a shelf as a birthday or graduation gift. And I think that’s awesome!

The M3 GTR is a nice surprise. If the AI is good to race against then I might pick this up on sale for some fun casual racing on Xbox. The list may not be big but if the cars are high quality, with good sounds etc. then it might be for the better.

Not very enthusiastic. There is a large majority of vehicles already seen in other episodes of Grid and Dirt, that's mainly recycling ; several vehicles are in their modified version and not their original one (like the Datsun 240Z); just some exclusive cars compared to other games of the genre (we could have Alfa Romeo Giulia GT-Am or Lotus Evija but no Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Imola, Ferrari F8 Tributo or Range Rover Velar for example) ; Classics are missing such as McLaren F1 (road, LM & GTR versions).
