Macau of the 2009 calender ?

The World Touring Car Championship could loose its slot at the annual Macau-street race. According to Autosport the organisers of the event are doubtful that the WTCC will be on the schedule for 2009. The cancellation of the first day of the event at Macau last year, which was caused by delayed WTCC-equipment, is reported to be the cause of the friction.

The WTCC-organisation had a three year deal with Macau which ended last year. After that a new deal was signed, but only for one year.

The World Touring Car Championship has run the final races at Macau since the re-formation of the championship in 2005.
