Because this part of the car has his paint on a Generic paint. So its not on the Lotus Template. When he will do this files its will be no more there

call me a noob, but when i downloaded the f1 2001 carset, they all only have livery_01 and livery_01. I thought it was livery_main for career + quick race...

The mod uses the driver specific livery mod that's why it has only livery_00 and livery_01 instead of the original livery_main structure. You can search for the driver specific mod uploaded by Steven Poirier.

oh, i now remember, when i use the driver specific mod, it changes all of my previous cars to a black mass. Is there a way to stop it doing that?

Yep, by removing the livery_main from the main folder and renaming/replacing the texture file of the car into the livery_00 and livery_01 folder .
