I took down around 9 dry setups from this thread, tested extensively in Practice 1 and arrived at a setup I was comfortable with. I hate understeer, but 8-9 (mild understeer) is necessary because Williams lacks rear downforce, tail slides out immediately if you use balanced / oversteer wing. Wings are high, agreed, but you'll make up enough time is S2/S3 to be out of reach by the time you reach the main straight.
I always maintain braking at 48-52, so I can steer comfortably under braking.
I initially set ARB to 1-11, but turn-in was very vague - I had no idea where I'd end up. Setting it to 4-11 made things better.
F-R Ride Height to 1-1 for this track. Max downforce at any cost. I set it to 1-2 once to extract a little oversteer, didn't really do any good for stability. I consider it cheating to set springs at 11-11, so I'll settle for 10-10. I like the car stiffly sprung.
Gear ratios are fudged from a Williams setup posted earlier, which Gear 7 upped one notch. Don't want to be hitting the limiter at Mix 3 in qualifying.
I use Lean fuel mix in P1/P2, Standard in P3/Q1/Q2 and Rich in Q3.
I initially set Cambers to -3.5/-1.5, but increased to -3.3/-1.3 for additional traction. Toe at 0.07/0.26 for increased responsiveness.
* On my 1.17:621 lap I got a tug down the main straight from a Red Bull, I'd consider my time ~1.17:9 to discount that effect. I did come across some traffic at the end of S2, I had to outbrake two cars into the hairpin. Don't think it affected my time though.
* I still have some issues negotiating Turn 1/Turn 2 - can't get the car to react quickly enough. Increased toe isn't really helping. Advice would be appreciated.
