i have recently gotten the full version of content manager and i try activating rain but theres no rain apps do i have to dowbload something external

Yes you need the Patreon version of Custom Shaders Patch for rainfx (however this is still a work in progress, you are paying for a mostly complete experience but one that does and will have bugs until it is finished and released for free). Search x4fab on patreon.
You will also want Sol, found here.

If you are not familiar with either of these mods I strongly suggest you read as much as you can on both before downloading, also follow the installation instructions carefully. Both of these work as intended, generally the only errors come from not following the install guides.
