Does "brake effect on steering acis" on json actually do anything?

I've seen so many different arguments on whether a lot of the effects/settings in the json file have an effect, can someone clear it up?

Not sure I can clear it up 100% but, unless something has changed recently, the effect produces additional steering resistance under braking. It's not clear to me if it's linked to ABS effects though. When I adjusted the effect, I was able to confirm that steering became much heavier when trail-braking into corners.

I actually like the effect and still have a small amount applied, it doesn't take much.
