VERSION 1.3 COMING SOON - Edited on April 21 - Will keep the post as it is to provide backup in case I want to come back to these ideas.

I just finished the tweaks for version 1.3. Tested my version with aero swapped between Renault and Racing Point and it worked out with Racing Point being too poweful so reverted back to my original 1.3 version. Ultimately decided not to tweak Ferrari as its performance was too low. Like version 1.2, it will come up with 2 versions, performance only and realistic damage + drag 0.85. Here are the tweaks compared to previous version:

  • Ferrari performance decreased a bit by giving them Racing Point’s post-patch aero to reflect slightly more drag (aero value always 2.037 but increased drag from 1.037 to 1.060).
  • Alphatauri performance increased: new Racing Point used as a base (including top tier engine) + Renault aero (less drag at 1.008 compared to the original AlphaTauri’s 1.024 but improved downforce at 2.016 versus AT 1.984 but still less downforce than Ferrari’s 2.037 and McLaren’s 2.026). Currently this is my only doubt and a big enigma, as I am afraid it can be too overpowered, may decide to decrease its engine power if it tops constantly Ferrari and McLaren.
  • Renault/Alpine performance increased: gave them back the original Renault performance and chassis + aero from Alphatauri (drag 1.024 and aero 1.984 so downgraded from original Renault aero which is very good, the best in the midfield). If Renault Alpine is too strong compared to Aston Martin I will switch their aero to put Aston Martin ahead.
  • Alfa Romeo performance increased by giving them the performance they had pre-patch but keeping their current Ferrari engine, chassis tweak to mass 748. Now drag is 1.040 and aero 1.932 (before they had drag and aero from Haas).
  • Williams changed from the old Alfa Romeo performance to AlphaTauri’s chassis + Haas aero, thus downforce goes up from 1.932 to 1.953 but also does drag, from 1.040 to 1.089, although it will be balanced by their Mercedes engine.
  • Haas mass from 753 to 758 to decrease the performance even more, let's see if we can put Magnussen and Grosjean in some trouble to emulate Schumacher and Mazepin!
  • Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren and Racing Point/Aston Martin not tweaked from version 1.2 since feedback told me they were good to go.
Thank you all for your support and I will come up with the new release very soon!
P.s: here is my easter egg for you detail-maniacs, the performance charts with values!

This is great and works really well. Is there anyway that https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/f1-failures-and-puncture-mod.35610/ could be combined if Andy is willing??
Yes, there is a way but it will have to be done manually. This mod by Andy is a mod I am enjoying a lot but it was too complicated for me to do for a start. But I don't say I won't be releasing a version of it, although it will not be so soon, as I want the performance balancing to be good first

To everyone, at the moment the most important feedback I could get is about Renault-Alpine and Racing Point-Aston Martin, I would like to know if Renault is too strong and Racing Point too weak before releasing 1.3 version. Thank You!

For me they seemed fine. Both Alpine are around 10 to 15 in qualifying and battling for 10 come the end of the race. Aston 9 to 13th in qualifying and again battling for low points in the race.

Ultimately decided not to tweak Ferrari as its performance was too low. Like version 1.2, it will come up with 2 versions, performance only and realistic damage + drag 0.85. Changes from version 1.2:

  • Alphatauri performance increased: new Racing Point used as a base (including top tier engine) + Renault aero (improved downforce at 2.016 versus AT 1.984 but still less downforce than Ferrari’s 2.037 and McLaren’s 2.026) and drag slightly increased to balance the top tier engine. Currently this is my only doubt and a big enigma, as I am afraid it can be too overpowered, may decide to decrease its engine power if it tops constantly Ferrari and McLaren.
  • McLaren performance slightly increased by changing the mass from 742 to 740 putting it on the tier of Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes.
  • Renault/Alpine performance slightly increased in chassis: gave them back the original Renault performance and chassis + aero from Alphatauri (drag 1.024 and aero 1.984 so downgraded from original Renault aero which is very good, the best in the midfield).
  • Alfa Romeo performance increased by giving them the performance they had pre-patch but keeping their current Ferrari engine, chassis tweak to mass 748. Now drag is 1.040 and aero 1.932 (before they had drag and aero from Haas).

  • Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Racing Point/Aston Martin not tweaked from version 1.2 since feedback told me they were good to go. Ultimately decided not to give Ferrari less performant new Racing Point's aero because in my tests they were too low compared to Racing Point and Alphatauri, so as Alphatauri got a performance increase I decided to leave Ferrari the way it was to try to balance things out.

Thank you! I think those are realistic results. I just released version 1.3 with some tweaks hoping to improve things even more, I increased Alphatauri and other stuff

Hello everyone, when playing 1.3 B please be so kind to advise if Alpine is always ahead of Aston Martin/Racing Point, in Vietnam I had both Aston Martin out of Q3 and Alonso in, of course no top cars DNFd so the places are limited, but I don't want Alpine to be too much far ahead in comparison to Aston Martin, I already have a tweak onto their drag in mind to rebalance things but I'm waiting also for your feedback. I hope you have fun and enjoy!

EnriqueBanderas updated 2021 Performance mod (BETA) with a new update entry:

Tweaks and rebalancing + McLaren Mercedes engine sound

1.4 – Tweaks to drag in Racing Point/Aston Martin and Renault/Apline for rebalancing; changes to drag and aero in Alfa Romeo and Williams. If this works well and with good feedback, this may be the final version for a while.

Bonus: cooperation with Kyerim to include its mod with the sound of Mercedes engine for McLaren in copypaste version! Check it out for manual installation: LINK –...

Does the mod work with cars that have the FOM chassis ?
If you use modular mods or install the VTF file manually because you play with skins and some official cars instead have the FOM chassis in your game I would say yes as the lines I edited are only the performance ones and have nothing to do with appearance and/or aesthetics (except the sound engine for McLaren newly implemented). Of course if you use skins or other mods you will have to use Modularmods or install it manually. If you want to combine this with other performance mods you will have to edit the vtf files lines manually based on what you want to combine with them.

If instead you talk about the FOM chassis that myteam cars have, yes, the mod will work for them in terms of realistic damage and 0.85 slipstreaming because I edited the 4 myteam car files in this sense, but other performances of the FOM cars were not touched.

If I did not understand the question, I'm sorry, please clarify and I will answer!
