The Ferrari Driver Academy have signed current Grand Prix star Charles Leclerc's younger brother - with Arthur joining the Italian squad alongside his Formula Regional commitments.

At just 19 years of age, Arthur is currently developing his racecraft in the junior formulae, having enjoyed a solid if unspectacular career to-date in the lower rungs of motorsport. Competing in German ADAC F4 last season, the Monegasque driver would finish a solid third overall, taking one with and a further seven podiums finishes from the 20 round series.

“Today we are very pleased to confirm two more young drivers (Dino Beganovic and Arthur Leclerc) are joining our 2020 FDA line-up. All our drivers taking part in F3, Formula Regional and F4 are rookies in their respective categories, so the season looks like being very interesting and competitive,” said FDA Technical Director Marco Matassa.
“In each case, the FDA’s objectives are to continue to help them progress both technically and as individuals, in their path towards reaching our common goals.”

2020 sees Leclerc continue his role as official reserve driver for the Venturi Formula E team alongside his new Ferrari role, as well as preparing to make a debut in the awfully named Formula Regional European Championship - a new category for Formula 3 specification machines that race on a number of high profile European racetracks across an eight round, 16 race season.

Leclerc will be partnered up with the crack Prema Powerteam operation, fresh off the back of a first, second and fifth place championship finish last time out with Frederik Vesti, Enzo Fittipaldi and Olli Caldwell respectively.
