F1-S-R 1996 Season Mod Current Status?

Many of us remember when F1SR showcased us a video of this mod. Of course, we know this is rFactor 1, but, with an enhanced engine, it gave us a theoretical outlook - at least graphically - of how the mod would turn out.

For those of you who have not seen a preview of this mod, here:

Personally, I would love to see this mod make it through, though, I looked on their site and I did not find any news concerning '96 F1 mod. I mean, the '96 cars are fun to play with and I would hope this was not purely demonstration.

If anybody is affiliated F1-S-R on here, I want to know, what is the status of this mod? Was this entirely for showcasing? If planning to go along with this, will this be the next major project? If some development has been done, has the dev team put this project on hiatus? Or in, most likely, extreme cases, postponed indefinitely?

Note - I am sorry if I am pestering you, and I don't mean to rush you in any way. Take as much time as given to complete whatever is on your list of priorities. ;)

Their plan is to redo 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 seasons for rF2, but there is some 1996 car available on their site.
Early 1992 conversion is already available, but will be redone too.

A lot of really good stuff in the works. Lots to look forward to. The beta's are already a joy to drive and look stunning.

Oh yeah, the 1992 season will be remade in a historic edition right? With proper car characteristics for each of the teams?
