that is good. Much credit must go to JB's criticism of it and his incident with the brakes - it really exposed how poor the rule was.
f1 2017 is going to be great.

While I was in favor of significant reductions in driver coaching, ("You can brake 3 meters later into turn 3" for example) outright banning critical communication between team and driver was ass-backwards. This, along with also getting rid of the readjusted qualifying rules from the first two races is, I think, a sign that the FIA is at least beginning to listen to not only the teams and drivers, but all of us who watch each race.

Glad to see it gone as well.
It was a stupid rule.
These are the most sophisticated cars on the planet.
It's not like years ago wherein you got in and just drove as fast as you could.
Handing the guys a forty plus page manual... just for steering wheel managed controls and expecting them to remember every single detail, while driving the car to a fuel target unaided is just plain silly.
This is why it's a 'team' sport.
Ultimately the driver moves the car.

Exactly, it's a team sport.

Also (like team orders), it was possible to break the rules at any time by concealing messages; it's actually pretty easy. The messages "push hard now" and "push now, hard" could have 2 completely different hidden messages, and while coded messages were banned, how would one know and prove such things?
