Is it possible for RACER to reduce verbose logging on a Mac OS running Leopard ?

Hello,
This is my first post. I am enjoying Racer on this Mac 10.5.
Digging around I learn racer is no longer supported on Macs, but I have a question.
When racer runs, or when a car changes or a new track selected, the racer app logs all the minutiae to the system.log which fills up to be many Mb in no time at all. For example. it logs every .tga that is loaded, and is almost endless in irrelevant detail it logs.

Can this verbose character be switched off?

Can it run from Terminal (console) with a switch, like $ racer -v0 for example?

Is there a list of all switches anywhere. I have looked but have not found anything.

thank you.
