"Lasso" Tool for the terrain? Me or a bug?

I'm not sure if I am doing wrong, or this tool don't work good.

So, the "Single" and "Lasso" tools for selecting terrain works identically, but the "Lasso" for the objects work in another way.

If I draw a circle it didnt select anything, if I press Shift it select only where I move the mouse, like the "Single" tool. Any idea?

Lasso tool works only in 3D view. Also undo select (holding ctrl) works only in 3D view
