Points and scoring: We use 3rd party scoring which is what will be used for writeups and trophies. First place is 40 points, 36/33/30/28/26/24/22/20/19/18/17/16........2 and can be found here http://experthistoric.xquiex.com/
Car selection: we use the same car for the season so choose wisely! Wrong car penalized by +30s to your time in an event.
...the rest!
Don't be fooled by the name... none of us are experts unless you count getting drunk!
Do you wish it mattered which tires you choose? Do you want to learn to strategize which parts of your mangled car you have the time to fix? Expert Historic Club has got you covered! A fun but challenging club attempting to recreate a slice of the struggle of rallying RWD in the golden era.
Based on historic WRC calendars, adapted for Dirt Rally 2.0. Season condensed to 10 events, ranging from 6-12 stages depending how long the real events were that year. Upcoming season is 1973, where it all began! First event, Monaco, is open 10 days but following events run a week each on a Mon-Sun schedule
Weather and conditions: There are some night stages and sometimes it rains... as it does in real rallies but it's not overdone. This is purely just for fun and personal accomplishment, AND TROPHIES!
What makes this historic?
Seasons are formatted by using WRC calendars, in this case 1973. Stage qty divided by 4 and length by 10 to bring numbers in line with DR2. Safari Rally and Rallye du Maroc are dropped cause no way to do them. Argentina will stand in for Portugal, dry Monte for Alpenfarht (opening Monte will be slippery!), and Spain for Sanremo
Some events were too long, with USA coming out to 21 stages so 12 is the new 21 and the rest of the long events are scaled accordingly. And other adjustments.
There's a sleepy sub for this club too https://old.reddit.com/r/experthistoric/
