New maps - existing profile?

Hi, another noob, but I like the sites looks really good

IN ETS2, when I install new maps, do you always have to start a new profile for the new cities to appear?

I have been playing for several days now and do not want to start over. Is there a way to install a new map but use an existing profile?

Hope somebody out there can help.

Unfortunately you can't install a new map and continue your old game. The reason for this is that the worlds economy is scripted and it looks at cities and companies present on the map. So if you were to continue your old game it just doesn't see the new additions as locations you can drive to.

Hope the poster don't mind me crashing this thread means I don't need to make a new one for a very similar point,

Ver simply ok I understand that you need to make a new profile to use a map mod, but how exactley will it work in game, their is no option to choose any map??
Also do or can the maps work in an intergrated fashion that is cumulitivley so that in essence the map area becomes bigger with the mods rather thaaan just a different area?
