Following an article the StarVR SDK allows the use of an individual GPU per eye.
That sounds like a big performance improvement and a way to step up the pixel count for future VR equipment.

But to get that working will be something else. Not many games support multi GPU setups or have a real benefit from it.

I wouldn't count on seeing them available to purchase until at least Q2 of next year. I am a backer and I would be surprised if mine arrives before Christmas. Even if it does, I may not even be able to use it properly as they are sending the sensors later, depending on when you receive the headset. If it's later they may come together.

I pledged last November. Can't remember my backer number, I am in the second half of the 5000 odd.
