The Prologue to season 3 of the Nations Grand Prix league is going online today.
Due to the amount of signups recieved for Season 3, two divisions are needed to make sure all drivers and nations signed up can race. This unique new addition to the RaceDepartment league operations will allow the NGP race organisers to easily determine who goes into what division for round 1 at Spa-Francorchamps.
In order to reduce the likelihood of an unfair advantage being gained by teams before the season starts, the track used for the Prologue event will be one which is outside the NGP calendar, and which has a good mix of technical, flowing and challenging corners: Great Britain's Cadwell Park.
The process is quite simple: Every nation signed up must enter three of their drivers into the event. A hotlap server will be set up from today (September 25) for one week, being closed on October 2. During that timeframe, all three chosen drivers for each nation must run laps on the server and aim for the best time possible. Once the server is closed at the end of the week, the drivers' times will be added together to create one aggregate time for each nation. Of the nations who have set times, the top half will be assigned to Division 1 and the lower half to Division 2 for the first round.
After Round 1, division slots will be determined via the promotion and relegation system outlined in the Intro and Info thread
here.
