F1 2011 Qualying/Race Issue/Question

Sorry if there is already a thread for this but I have a question about qualifying.

This issue has happened to me a couple of times, during qualifying, for whatever reason I may not reach the top 10 or whatever my qualifying goal is, and because of this, rather than let me race it will skip to the next race track. Is there a way to stop this or have I just hit the wrong button? Because I don't care where I start on the grid, I'll fight my way through if necessary.

It's a reported bug, a lot of people suffered from it already.

Out of curiosity, did you patch the game?

I play on xbox so the patch always pops up, I'm not really aware of what the update might have been for but I believe I have the most up-to-date patch. It's confusing, because I looked at my race history and I started 18th on the grid in Australia but it let me race.
