Yep, we do and we all have our own opinions. Everythings fine. And having different opinions may also mean different way of rate things. Musically (soundwise), it's each ones cup of tea but lyrically/the meaning behidn that song should be rated higher (imo of course ). Depends on how one looks at stuff + his opinion

Californication was one of the first songs where Anthoyn Kiedis had the lyrics finished for the Californication album. In his opinion they are one of his best lyrical pieces and therfore he wanted it to be on the album. But they just couldn't find the correct way to wrap the lyrics up, this is an early version. It wouldn't even be on the album, but Antony pushed it and pushed it and then suddenly John Frusciante came up with the minimalistic guitar style that is on the known version.

Interestingly they decided to re-use the early version seen above.

From a technical aspect well executed but it lacks some depth for me. The song doesn't seem to evolve. Not my cup of tea i guess

Something REALLY different

Thats 1/10 for me. Εven for a greek. Greek music of late 80s/early 90s for God's sake, and that's what a lot of people in their 50s are hearing to this day.
