Briefing
The responses to the previous event were positive. We're glad that the series was well received in its first event.
To make sure we can have longer green runs we stress the importance of
preparation and patience. There are 143 laps to race at Iowa, which means dodgy manoeuvres in the first couple of laps are entirely unnecessary. Please keep your head cool, let the race settle and unfold your plans when we've got a few green laps under the belt. Don't try to beat the field in every restarts!
To survive the race you'll also need a good prepararion, especially at Iowa. The track is small and the corner relatively sharp. You will need your brakes.
The consequence of all this is that you tyres will wear out quickly. You can only counter this by
driving carefully and letting the car roll through the corners. Additionally you'll need to be able to driver several lines, because you'll be side-by-side quite a lot. Practise these elements of the race.
Overtaking can be hard here. The lower line isn't always the quicker line and being on the outside can be dangerous as cars come up out of the corner. Practise your lines and practise overtaking.
Make sure you can always hold your line, both outside and inside. We don't want people divebombing each other or people bouncing off the wall.
After the long green run to the finish at Charlotte I'm confident we can pull this off. All the best!
Absences
Every driver that signs up for the competition is expected to join its events. Anyone that does not enter an event without giving
prior notice of his absence will be
replaced by a driver from the
waiting list.
If you cannot participate please take the following steps:
- Start a conversation with Josh Barton and Yoeri Gijsen and notify us at least 24 hours before the start of the race.
- Edit your sign-up info by setting it to 'Unavailable' at the Series & Sign-up page.
NOTE: 24 hours before the race the entry list will freeze and the staff will add and notify drivers from the waiting list. Absent drivers cannot rejoin unless given permission by the staff due to limited grid spots.
