The 2017 RDGTC season opened in fine style at Silverstone with a commanding victory for Adrian Campfield at the home of the British Grand Prix.

RDGTC is the seventh running of our premier GT racing league, and for the first time is using the outstanding RaceRoom Racing Experience simulation from Sector3 Studios. With a fine field of 28 drivers taking to the season in a very tightly packed grid of eight brands and 12 models of GT3 specification cars, the fighting and racecraft displayed out on the circuit at Silverstone has left a mouth watering prospect of some incredible action for the remainder of the season.

The home of the British Grand Prix since the very first official Formula One World Championship event all the way back in 1950, Silverstone would prove to be the perfect stage for our teams and drivers to showcase a commendable fighting spirit here in RDGTC last week, pushing the excellent selection of GT3 race cars to the absolute limit of adhesion as our drivers looked to lay out their markers in the bid to become the 2017 RDGTC champion, taking away the crown of the finest GT3 race driver competing here at RaceDepartment.

Despite what was a thoroughly entertaining race throughout, it was the highly impressive Adrian Campfield in his mighty Chevrolet Corvette Z06. R who would go on to stamp his dominance all over the Northamptonshire circuit, leading away from Pole Position and only once losing the lead throughout the full 90 minute duration, relinquishing position number one for a solitary lap as he dived to the pitlane for fresh boots and fuel towards the middle of an intense battle.

Despite having looked untouchable all event, Campfield would only enjoy a slim lead of well under 10 seconds for pretty much the whole event, with both the equally impressive Caramidaru Andrei Bogdan and RaceDepartment's own Davy Vandevenne keeping him honest throughout, pushing the race winner hard for the full 90 minutes and very much showing the kind of form that should make for interesting competition throughout the remainder of the season.

The second place finish for Bogdan would be all the more impressive when one considers the Romanian driver was both a late addition to the RDGTC field, and more impressive still a brand new father as of the previous Friday, showing impressive dedication to his commitment to compete here at RaceDepartment and also an enviable ability to function with minimal sleep. From all at RaceDepartment, many congratulations on the new arrival Caramidaru, may the next few weeks remain peaceful enough for you to continue your RDGTC endeavours with a minimum of disruption and sleep deprivation!

Thanks to what is a wonderfully diverse grid of cars courtesy of the licencing skills over at Sector3, the long straights and high speed corners of Silverstone are a very different prospect to the twists and turns of the Nurburgring GP next time out. With a strong start to the top three finishes doing plenty to help them on their way to a championship challenge, the grid could very well be turned well and truly on it's head this Sunday October 22nd...

Very nice article, If I could be picky would have enjoyed some race photos (my bad if this are from the race) and maybe a short few questions with 2, 3 drivers.
Thank you for the wishes, taking care of the baby so far is piece of cake (really quite dude) unlike handling the Camaro which will be atrocious on nurburgring.
@Bram Hengeveld @Kenny Paton any chance for a server replay file? Fresh install of windows i lost everything
Thank you
