Third team to release images but first to hit the track, welcome to the world the RedBull Tag Heuer RB14 of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen..
To give it the full title, the new car from Milton Keynes will be called the Aston Martin-Red Bull Racing-TAG Heuer RB14 and comes into the world today directly from the home of British motorsport at Silverstone.
Stealing an early march of its Formula One rivals, RedBull spent time shaking down the new machine at a wet and windy Silverstone as part of a special filming day ahead of pre season testing next week, completing a maximum of 100 KM using Pirelli show tyres with Ricciardo behind the wheel, marking the first 2018 laps for any Formula One team so far.
Running a special edition 'Disruption' livery for just the launch period, Red Bull will revert to the colours to be used during the season proper when testing gets underway in full at Barcelona next week. Despite poor conditions and the limited nature of the "test", lead driver Daniel Ricciardo professed himself happy with the early performance of the Renault powered machine:
"It's always hard to tell from a few laps but the initial feeling is good. It's not doing anything that scares me and I can already feel that the rear of the car feels pretty settled, even in these poor conditions. Those are encouraging early signs."
"Obviously, it's been a long day trying to get everything going but a lot better to have that here than in Barcelona," said Daniel. "Doesn't mean we won't have anything in Barcelona but it's nice to know we've got some of the initial challenges out of the way."
