Check your shared folder and remove loose shader files.

You should only need coreshaders.mas... maybe some mods have installed shaders to the shared folder.

You could try to remove your player folder temporarily... to get the game to boot up in the case of a corrupted PLR file.

Tried having only coreshaderes.mas and removing my player folder and none worked. still "stopped working" message after splash screen.

Looks like too many mods, or some mods that create a conflict somehow.

I use separate installs for the mods I use... after a point rF gets too big if you install too much stuff.

Only 10 car folders in vehicles and 195 track folders in locations. Too much?
PS: Only the "ANY_DEV_ONLY" rfm in game.
EDIT: Uninstalled, deleted the leavings, reinstalled and it worked! Thanks @Gringo for your help!

It seems you're using the Steam version. I've written a guide that explains how you can create multiple installs for that: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=402188900

That might be helpful both for testing new cars and tracks and managing larger numbers of them in general.

I have just experienced crashing of rFactor at the splash screen stage.
This was after I'd done a System Restore.
It looks like the plugins I'd been using were causing a conflict.
Installing the original Plug-ins folder resolved the issue. My suspicion is the rFJARPlugin in my case. Hope that helps somebody
