I also had a a few game crashes recently (more than usual, rF2 had been pretty stable for me) and found myself back to the desktop, could also be a recent update causing it.

My game crashed to desktop during race 1 with the Caterhams on Thursday night. I haven’t had that in a long while, so it could really be related to a recent update

I will go to check the next days the following things :
CPU heat, GPU driver,
and if non game applications are runnig in the background ,
delete possible unnecessarely game cache,
and also will arrange my 2 SSD disk partitions, to get more free space for the windows 10 running system.
