Shiny Skins

Very sorry if this is the wrong place.

Another person attempting to make skins for a Gmotor game and finds they are shiny. I have played with the alpha channel, painting it black and the like. It doesn't seem to be having any effect. I still end up with a shiny skin.

So, I'm wondering if it has to do something with how I'm saving. Does it matter if I flatten the file before I save it as a .dds?

Once again, sorry if this is the wrong place...

Are you exporting the DDS as DXT1? This makes the skin REALLY shiny. You need to export it as DXT5
