AC Social Event: EU Advanced Driver Academy @ Highlands Drift - Mon 30Apr18

Brand new to RD is our new Advanced Driver Academy which will be held every 2 weeks. New Premium Member or just need a little help? Unsure about everything you need to get started and be comfortable? Let us help you with anything regarding racing here at RD. We'll cover everything from Assetto Corsa game settings, Setups, Teamspeak or whatever you would like to know. We will be focusing on the BMW M235i Race car so you can jump straight into Tuesday's Social Event races and be ready to go.

All premium members using their full Real Name in the forum, race servers and teamspeak can sign up for this event. Sign up below and make sure to tag fellow community members who you think would benefit!!! Space is limited.

Important, please read:
With limited space we are asking everyone to work together to allow others to take part. Here are a few things you can do to help us:

• If you were in the last academy, please do not sign up for this one unless spots are available the day of the academy.
• Make sure you have the DLC for this event.
  
• If you sign up, please show up. If you can't make it, we expect you to sign out no later than 1 hour before the academy starts to make room for others. Failure to do so will make you ineligible for the next Academy.
  
• Read the Club Rules and make sure you have your real name showing up in game and on teamspeak.
• Password for the Academy server will be given out on teamspeak. Please be sure to be on time so we can go forward in a timely manner.
• If you are using VR, please have your settings and buttons mapped prior to the Academy. This will save everyone time so we can get down to business......Racing.
  
• Make sure to have these apps on your screen if possible:

1. Tyre App
2. Helicorsa 0.7b Download
   
3. Real Time
4. Track Map
5. Corner Names
6. Use F11 and have your Virtual Mirror on. If using VR please disregard.

• Have fun

Our Format will be as follows:

Introduction

• Question and answer session regarding Teamspeak and Asseto Corsa Game Settings. Please no wheel settings questions as that would eat up a lot of time and there are plenty of tutorials on the internet for this.
• Do a few laps following Jeremy. Please no passing. That will happen later
• Driving lines brief synopsis and ride along.
• Class goes out to drive in 5-10 second intervals using default setup. Q&A afterwards.
• Setup basics. Go over the order in which we start dialing it in ie Tires first and why
• Start building a setup
  
• Class goes back out to try the new settings to see how it feels. Q&A afterwards.
  
• Repeat setup and tweaking.
  
• Class goes out for 10 minute race.
• Final Q & A. Class dismissed.

IN-GAME SHORTCUTS:
CTRL+L : enable / disable names above cars
CTRL+I : racing line on/off
F11 : toggle virtual mirror

MULTIPLAYER SHORTCUTS:
CTRL+1 (on number pad): switch to previous opponent car
CTRL+3 (on number pad): switch to next opponent car
CTRL+2 (on number pad): switch back to your car
CTRL+L: enable / disable names above cars

First let me thank you for helping out with Devidin 's question. I say it all the time, we have some of the best members. You guys help out so much

I can't put you on the reserve list yet, since you were in the last one we held. However, if it's not full on the day of the Academy, please ask to be added then and I'll do it. We're just trying to make sure new drivers don't have any obstacles at all when they sign up and if they were to see a full grid and reserves, they wouldn't know that they have priority. Hope this makes sense.

From my experience of 5 decades anything after the 5th, things start getting taken away from us That's why we have to stick together. We all bring something to the table and surely we can concoct some kind of recipe to combat the youngsters Well, if one of us remembers the recipe
