F1 2014 Starting The Race On Wrong Set Of Tyres [Solved]

I did my best Q3 time using the option tyres in Melbourne career mode and I got pole. First run on new option tyres, second run also on new sets of options. On race day when I'm about to edit my race strategy i noticed that I'll be starting the race on primes. I can't edit the type of tyre to start the race it is greyed out. Is this a bug? I don't remember using the primes in Q3.

Were you using prime tyres when you set your fastest lap in Q2? If so and you qualified for Q3 then those tyres would become your race tyres.

"At the start of the race each car which qualified for Q3 must be fitted with the tyres with which the driver set his fastest time during Q2."

Yup, that's the new rules in the real 2014 season.

This is to try and force cars out of the garage and set a Q3 time. Some cars didn't bother running in Q3 and just accepted their current position, in an attempt to save tyres for the race
