You job is not to reinvent the wheel. Your job is to make the best game possible. AMS2 has the best race day options. Rolling or static starts, they way you can assign weather conditions to change every 25% of the race, etc etc.
AMS2 did a lot of work in the last year with that 1.5 update. Show your respect by taking the things they did well with the UI and apply them to AC2. Make these pre-race options the industry standard.
