Steam Resetting game to default?

You guys ever have this happen on Windows 10? This happened so far to me with my PC on Steam using AC twice, where it was as if I re-installed the game starting from new. Had to re-configure and recalibrate wheel, setting etc. I dont play as often as I used too but this doesn't happen on my laptop with Windows 8.1 using AC. [haven't tried other games]

Are there settings on W10 and Steam that need to be turned off to prevent this?

I would suggest opening Steam with administrator rights. I used to have problems with Steam forgetting my preferences on Win 10. Then I put it to always open with admin rights, and voila!

However, your case might be related to something else.

Thanks I greatly appreciate your reply. And will do that. I even changed Win10 to a "metered connection" as it kept updating when it wanted to, so hopefully that will stop as well. Thanks again
