sudden start problem

last night gsc worked,though it always did while starting said :not responding; but regained control and worked..anyways...go to start gsc...starts loading...then screen kind of flickers..and it stops...look in task manager..se it start..then dissapears???? just cannot figure out what is stopping the game from starting?? I did a sync...did not help....i did run it with softth and its own d39.dll i took that out and replaced the dll with original...still same thing...any suggestions??
