throwing away your ciggarete should show on the ground afterwards

I always wondered why is it that when you throw away your ciggarete it dissapears like some kind of bad CGI effect. Would not mind if the game allowed the ciggarete to be visible on the ground after you throw it away. Obviously you could do the right thing and put it in the bin or leave it on the ground. It will dissapear after awhile (someone picked it up)
