Tragic news as former racing driver and team owner Tom Walkinshaw has died. The 64-year-old had been suffering from cancer.

tw.jpgDuring his career Walkinshaw ran the Benetton, Ligier and Arrows Formula 1 teams - and was pivotal in Benetton's rise to a championship-winning team in the 1990s. But he was arguably best known for his spectacular achievements with Jaguar in both touring cars and sportscars.

Our thoughts are with Tom's family and friends. Rest in peace TW!
 
Very sad news indeed, it's a horrible disease. We have recently lost another dear friend from cancer, at an even younger age.

Tom Walkinshaw was also very well known in Australia for his contribution to the Holden Racing Teams over many years. A truly sad loss.
 
A very sad loss. Very sorry to hear that news. Lost my father ( very keen driver/ supporter of motor sport ) to the same horrible disease this year at the age of 59..... R.I.P Tom Walkinshaw.. Sad news my thoughts are with his family.
