VR a lot better

Not sure what Sector3 did, but the cars look a whole lot better in VR...especially when following closely behind an opponent.
I took a few new cars I hadn't driven before out last evening (because of the free-to-drive weekend).
I could see quite a bit more detail in the cars, track surroundings,etc.
Did they 'tweak' all of the game graphically during the last update?

I don't think so, no. I think the only VR-related graphical tweak was that they fixed the shadow problem. (haven't actually tested that yet) I can't say that I've noticed any graphical differences, so perhaps your own VR settings have been changed?

I can confirm the shadow issue is fixed. I've tried to get it to show up again and haven't seen it once. Not sure the VR is any clearer, but at least the shadows are finally fixed.

Now....if they could just update the transmission whine in the Porsche cars.....

Isn't the clearer image related to the recent NVidia/SteamVR update? It determines the GPU and detects and set the best supersample value automatically?
