What's so cool about Twitter?

Seems that nobody understands the use of it, but Twitter was the fastest growing website in february 2009 (lol).
Maybe its the same as with facebook-styled stuff, avoided it for years and eventually gave in because of social pressure :)D) and still dont know what to think of it.

I used it when it was ASOT 400 and you were able to use it for requests and things. Its good if you use it like a chat room, not much else.
