In this day of automotive glory, nearly everyone has some great and epic car related stories. So here's the place to share them!
When I was about 14 or 15, which is under the road legal driving age in the US, my grandfather thought he would get one of his old cars running for me to drive around in the fields. It was a 1986 Buick Riviera with a 350 V8, and front wheel drive. The exhaust pipe and muffler had fallen off just behind the headers so, despite the poor condition of the aging car, it sounded amazing. I made myself a little dirt track through the field and drove it until the thing overheated day after day. It may have been a boat, and in rough condition at that, but nonetheless that is one of the driving experiences that will stick with me the rest of my life. To me at that time, a kid who had never driven a real car, it may has well have been Ken Block's Hoonicorn.
