Why always repairing in pits?

I just wanted to know why isn't the option for not repairing damages when you pit. I think that sometimes its quite stupid loosing 6 sec in box repairing for nothing because the pace is already compromised...

PS: Just see now how idiot I am

Well, its your choice as the driver if you think the damage is enough to warrant the repairs. You need to have the optional side of things, some light damage to the car that may cost a tenth a lap wouldn't need repairing while losing a FW obv does.

Repairing damage in stops does make sense sometimes, other times it doesn't..

Carlos you can chose many things after you request the pitstop - front wing angle, tire pressure, tires and different repair options!
