Why are there so many mods for RFactor?

Whats the deal with lots of mods for RFactor and not GTR Evolution or any other sim. Is it easier for modders to create cars for it, or is it just their favourite game?

Easier to mod? and to get permissions.
Far superior online code.
Arguably bigger community ( not here though I know)
Feels a bit more sim like.
Most mod groups have been with rF for a long time and the game was created for the community to work on.

Those are some of the many factors.

Yes i agree with Damian there ,and its a more then 3 year old sim and from the start open for modders.

That is correct...Easier to mod and the "MAS" files are not encrypted like in GTR-2, GTR-Evo and Race 07, plus we get lot of technical support from the "ISI" guys and on a timely manner...
