Wreckfest Update Hotfix 2.jpg

Wreckfest has received it's third update of the month thanks to a new hotfix deployed by Bugbear Entertainment earlier today.

Fresh off the back of the January (well February actually) major build release, Bugbear have been hard at work addressing many of the unexpected issues that arose as part of what was frankly a sizable new build. Highlights include multiplayer crash fixes and career improvements.

Available immediately next time the player opens Steam, the new build hotfix notes can be seen in full below..

January Update - Hotfix 2 Details
  • MP: Server browser no longer crashes in certain cases.
  • MP: Spectate mode no longer crashes on certain tracks.
  • MP: Ban list size is now 1024 entries.
  • Career: Championships 3–5 no longer require 100% completion of the previous championship to unlock.
  • Boomer Rear Bumper 1 no longer yields extra horsepower.
  • Lap counter now works correctly on modded tracks.
  • Example track no longer crashes the game.
Wreckfest is available for PC with console versions due to release during 2018.

Have to say it does look better these days; a few touches here and there such as tyres and other debris interacting with the cars, better blindspot visibility etc. Like the nods to classic machinery though, Skyline, Supra, CRX etc. Just spotted XJS :geek:

Been having a blast online, Seems someone finally figured out how to incorporate turn one madness into a real strategy option.

Anyhow, Last couple nights, near every server is coming up with a red cross, and a note saying mismatched files or content?

Happening on both systems that I have the game installed on...

Hi, if you see a few servers with white PING bar graph ( stock hosts ), the rest the red Xs are modded servers. But if you seeing all red Xs, try this:

Did see issue with them darn redXs. When trying to join modded server and trying to go back to stock. Give this method a try if refreshing the host list 3 times not working and the verifying message in bottom right-hand corner in server message window is gone:

If trying to join modded server, like tonight's Very TrackPack mod. Enable Very TrackPack mod in Mods list, then go to Custom Event, scroll over to The Very TrackPack and pick one the tracks. Start race. After race start, quit and go to Multiplayer, if see all red Xs, click refresh.

Same goes for going back to stock if you seeing all red Xs. Uncheck Very TrackPack mod in Mods list, hit Esc to reboot game. Wreckfest should be stock now. Then go to Custom Event and pick one the stock tracks, start race, quit race after it starts, go to Multiplayer, if see all red Xs, click refresh.

Now if still seeing all red Xs after all this, then give this Bugbear help post a try:

Occasionally the game will not launch after installing mods. If this happens, first try launching the game with "-disable_mods" (without quotes) launch option (right click on the game name in Steam Library > Properties > Set Launch Options). If that doesn't help, remove c:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\[User ID]\228380\local\wreckfest early access\modlist.mods file and try again.
