[AMS2] F1 1986 Season 1.01

The 1986 FIA Formula One World Championship was the 40th season of FIA Formula One Motor Racing.

It featured the 1986 Formula One World Championship for Drivers and the 1986 Formula One World Championship for Manufacturers, both of which commenced on 23 March and ended on 26 October after sixteen races. The 1986 season mark the height of turbo-powered engines - with up to 1300 HP, the F1 has never seen more horsepower.

The Drivers' Championship was won by Alain Prost, and the Manufacturers' Championship was won by Williams-Honda.

The Championship culminated in a battle between Williams drivers Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet and McLaren driver Alain Prost at the final race, the Australian Grand Prix. Mansell's tyre exploded and Piquet was brought in for a precautionary pit stop for tyres as a result, leaving Prost to win the race and his second consecutive Drivers' Championship. Mansell, Piquet and Prost, along with Lotus' Ayrton Senna, dominated throughout the season and formed what was dubbed as the "Gang of Four".



This Mod-package contains car liveries, in game Reiza-style previews and driver helmets, suits & gloves for the Formula Classic Gen 1 Model 1, Formula Classic Gen 1 Model 2 and the Lotus 98T from the 1986 season.

Included is also an custom AI Drivers file to match the 1986 season. All driver skills have been adjusted and finetuned track-specifically for qualy and race performance, in dry and wet conditions.


The XML Selector allows you to customize the mod in a very simple way: Go to your Automobilista 2 folder and run the "F1_Season_1986_XML_Selector.bat" file. Select a scenario by typing the option number of your choice and hit enter.

The mod gives you following scenario options to choose from:

1. Default grid (First 5 races of 1986) : De Angelis at Brabham, Tambay at Lola-Haas, Surer at Arrows, Danner at Osella, Laffite at Ligier
2. Round 6 (Canada, Montreal) : During tests in Le Castellet, De Angelis crashes and lost his life. Derek Warwick replaces him.
3. Round 7 (USA, Detroit) : Eddie Cheever takes Tambay's seat in the Lola-Haas, Christian Danner moves to Arrows in place of Marc Surer, and Allen Berg takes the Osella seat.
4. Round 8 (France, Le Castellet) : Patrick Tambay is back in the Lola-Haas.
5. Round 9 (Great-Britain, Brands Hatch) : No tobacco liveries for McLaren and Ferrari
6. Round 10 (Germany, Hockenheimring) : No tobacco liveries again. Philippe Alliot replaces an injured Jacques Laffite in the Ligier.
7. Round 11,12,15,16 : Tobacco liveries are back and Alliot is still in the Ligier.
8. Round 13 (Italy, Monza) : AGS makes Grand Prix debut with Ivan Capelli and outqualifies one of the Osella !
9. Round 14 (Portugal, Estoril) : Keke Rosberg drives a Yellow Marlboro McLaren, and Ivan Capelli makes his 2nd Grand Prix for AGS.
