AMS2 Update Fixes Logitech Issues

Autmobilista 2 Hotfix v1.5.0.4 Update.jpg
Making the jump to v1.5 proved to be a big step forward for Automobilista 2, but as is often the case, such big updates come with small issues. To remedy some of these unintended consequences, a small update has been deployed that users of Logitech wheels should find particularly helpful.

Prior to the update, Logitech devices featuring TrueForce (that being both versions of the G923 and Pro Racing Wheel) encountered issues regarding their lockstop and calibration, which should now be a thing of the past again. The same goes for game crashes in certain very specific situations, such as skipping ot the end of a session in a championship with full course yellows and the fastest lap point active.

Several Minor Fixes & Adjustments

Developer Reiza Studios also took the opportunity to adjust a number of parameters for various cars, including tire treads and carcasses, Force Feedback, aerodynamics and certain setup values being incorrect. Singleplayer racers will be pleased to find out that the AI have received more attention as well, with select classes seeing recalibrations, particularly for the behavior on ovals.

On the content side, the 2023 Cruze of the Stock Car Pro Series has received an updated model, and both cars compete in the series have seen the addition of a new cockpit model, bringing Brazil's premier touring car series up to spec properly for its current season.

In fact I discovered I had my resolution equal to my Win 11 'suggested' resolution for my 65" 4K LG C2, i.e. 3840x2160p - and not at fully max capable for my screen 4096x2160p @ 119Hz.

So now at absolutely full max res. And everything bonkers in-game, i.e. bizarre ultra settings, amongst 4xframes rendering ahead.
Hm, according to LG's own specs the display resolution of the C2 is 3840*2160, so higher resolutions are scaled down (and maybe adding latency.)

Rendering several frames ahead will also increase latency.

This is exactly why I was a bit surprised today, my Win11 OS offering the higher resolution and consequently for AMS2 in-game graphics settings, too (setting both to the 4096x2160 res). Bear in mind this was with a 20 meter optical HDMI2.1 cable patched between my gfx (in my office) and my LG C2 TV (living room) - however with built-in signal amplifiers for every 5 metres (I'm not an expert in this field so dunno whether that's relevant here).

But theres a postlude blues to it that I didn't mention, and with your stressing of the C2's official capabilities maybe makes sense;
When trying to exit AMS2 again after racing, it wasn't possible! Just a black screen and no possibilities to really switch to windows task manager and close down AMS2 that way, though task manager showed up by using ALT+TAB.

So only option was windows user sign-out or PC-restart, both via CTRL+ALT+DEL

Back to the C2's official max 3840x2160 res hereafter this issue was not present any longer.

Rendering several frames ahead will also increase latency.
Surely!

But NO latency whatsoever with this 'above presciptions' resolution. Everything remarkable fluent visual dynamics, especially the max blur effect was very convincing, also speaking the transitions while going at alternating speeds. My best flat screen sim immerson to date (when leaving out my VR immersion experiences).

And so regarding a posters issue speaking tree modelling and graininess issues with 1.5 patch I got curious and tested some laps at Cadwell Park and Buskerud. But with all marmelade as stated it was just even more convincing.

And this was even before I realized that my AMD Adrenaline software had gone back to factory settings, i.e. 'raw' 4K output.

So I guess my Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 XT Special Edition gfx can't be that bad after all :)

*edit* Apologize if this seems off-topic, but an answer to the input from a user experiencing a graphics setback introduced with 1.5.
But I cannot provoke those issues, even running AMS2 V1.5.0.4 with my nVidia GTX 1650Ti laptop gfx...

AMS2 is the best and most complete single player experience at the moment.
I enjoy AMS2 and it has improved with the latest update....but most complete single player?
Not sure if your being sarcastic or serious? :)

AI is better, but still not great, cut corners, not balanced, crazy grip in corners.
You can't change any driver attributes or names within the game via sliders, only editing files.
Championship mode, the weather is not adjustable.
Custom championship can not score multi class classes individually.
RX doesn't even have the proper Race format ex. Heats and practice/quali are not available in SP?

Personally, I feel iRacing has the best AI and most in-game customization of any title.
AMS2 has pretty much no weakness (content, phyisics, AI) even if quality varies between car classes
Single player improvements, multiplayer overhaul is needed, audio still has a lot of issues with popping and crackling.
If your not an open wheel fanatic, I personally feel the tin top content is a bit bland.
Graphics optimization for weather and night, fix for the sparks.... especially for vr.

The game is coming along but still a lot of work is need in all aspects.

I was hoping to see some audio fixes for the RX class as I was experiencing a lot of issues with cut outs and crackling/distortion.

Looking forward to testing the new RX ai improvements as the DLC launch was pretty slow even maxed out at 120.

My experience (at least with GT3/E cars), is that the player is now way too OP in corners that the AI was at least equal to the player before, which causes the player to increase the AI, which then causes the AI to be SUPER OP in the corners it was orginally slightly OP in to begin with. The AI is a mess now. This phenomenon was always there, but now it is multiplied and makes playing virtually unplayable on certain tracks.

For instance, the Daytona RC Chicane is basically a nightmare now because the AI is insanely fast through there and will pull up beside you at the beginning because you have to break way earlier before they do (always existed) but now the AI is even higher (to compensate for the AI super slow corners) so not only is it impossible to keep up with them, but your chances of getting in a wreck in way higher. Its really bad now.

By the way, I've had to increase the AI 5 to 10 points in the 1.5 update to compensate for the super OP cornering (traction) the player has now. I've actually started playing ACC recently, which I avoided because of how resource intensive it is. I was quickly humbled when I attempted to corner AMS2 style (pre and post 1.5).

I appreciate you sharing your experience publicly... The Reiza forums are pretty toxic and defensive atm and a lot of people are being turned away from giving this type of genuine feedback...

I've found that the AI's braking was always too good before 1.5, but now there's such large differences between what the AI can do and what the player can do... And on top of that there's the super grip on traction that a lot of people are still finding after 1.5.0.4...

It's the little things that turned me from being AI only in AMS2 late last year to being MP only after finishing up my F1 2020 MyTeam... I don't like racing against the same car that acts completely different to mine on track, it was one of my biggest problems with titles on the Madness engine prior to AMS2... I also really enjoy long races, so the tyre wear and fuel weight issues hit me very hard in AMS2... And then there's the damage physics... I don't want to turn off simulation features just to run with the AI, I want to enjoy that simulation fidelity...

I've had the exact same driving experience you did with ACC but with Dirt Rally 2 and F1 22... Both of those titles force you to think with your feet in ways that AMS2 just doesn't now... There were a few cars where it was good on that front before 1.48 hence I kept driving it in the hope that Reiza would find ways of keeping their simulation standards... Instead it feels like they've gone the other way for a simplified casual motorsports experience like pCARS 2...

And people wonder why so many rag on pC2... It was a broken mess for most of us, those who enjoyed it come to other titles with very low expectations and a very high resistence to insane bugs that don't exist elsewhere...

Just got home after some real laps on Interlagos and I assure you: AMS2 stinks. Meanwhile AMS1, rF2, AC are good training (or cheat tools), AMS2 is a bad joke. ALL corners speed are wrong.

I like to use my rig to take some advantage on training (dont't judge me), even in regular track and in 2T and rental karts in the only track I have on my city and it's bullshit. Useless.

On specific regard of karts, it's off by 500% of real stuff. Waste of time.
