Automobilista 2 Update is Live: More Than An F1 Car

Automobilista 2 Update in Beta More Than An F1 car.jpg
The April update for Automobilista 2 is here – and Reiza Studios continues to make incredible progress in their sim: Not only does V1.3.5.0 bring eagerly awaited new content to the table, it also improves the ERS and tire models as well as other elements under the hood.

To get the most important question out of the way first: Yes, the Formula Ultimate Gen2 car that represents the 2022 crop of Formula One vehicles, is now part of AMS2. Along with the brand-new single seater, a reworked ERS system and tire model make their way into the sim. Ever since the beta version of the update dropped, sim racers have been praising the F-Ultimate Gen2, and once the inevitable community skin pack is here, you can enjoy your own virtual version of the current F1 season.

Fans of Brazilian motorsports also get their share of new content: The 2022 season of the Stock Car Pro series is now in AMS2, and just in time for the real event on April 10th, the Galeao Airport circuit has also been added.

Various smaller fixes have been implemented as well, such as additional entries for the F-USA Gen1 class, fixes to the crowds at select tracks, and general bug fixes. Reiza as also further improved the AI and added a logic for forced and unforced errors, which should make offline races more believable. You can find the full changelog in full on the next page to find out all the details of the additions and adjustments. Which parts of the update are you most looking forward to try for yourself?

Let us know what you think about the new version in the comments!

The overwhelming majority of PC and Playstation/Xbox gamers don't own a VR headset (recent figures for PS4 appear to be < 5% of PS4 owners have PSVR, and < 2% of Steam users have a VR headset.
Where did you come up with this set of figures? What are your sources? I find these percentages very hard to believe.

Its definitely still niche (a niche market at least) when you take into account the platforms that are relevant to this game. It's future potential doesn't mean it isn't a niche market right now.
According to RD, recent polls (last year) have put the percentage of *sim-racers* using VR at around 30%. And obviously that will be increasing every year. I expect that's significantly more than the direct drive wheel percentage? AMS2 has great VR, the developers clearly don't have one foot stuck in the past.

what 2% is like 16 million user's using VR give or take but the numbers are there (sources steam they do it all in there software if you ever look past games :D ) Type in steam statistics vr and you'll get the numbers :D

More like 2.9M.
ya was just checking that number as well.. damn small. Suprised it lasted as long as it has..
Once Nvidia release a card 4X more powerful than a 3090 VR will be ready for the proimetime where graphical sacrifices dont need to be made for it.

Curious how it compares to the AC RSS formula Hybrids!
hopingthey release the actual 2022 model soon.. the current one is not accurate and the actual will be released Q1 so ? soon?

Formula Hybrid X 2022 and EVO for AC

Version 4

*These are advanced prototype cars of the rules provided years before the season start and are not to be confused with the separate Formula Hybrid 2022 vehicle that is currently in production for Q1 2022 which will align even closer with the 2022 regulations. That car will be a totally new product and will be independent from this Formula Hybrid X concept product.*

Not until Kunos release AC2 on UE5. :roflmao:
We'll probably be fine with old sims, if Intel also catch up with CPU to match, but anything modern, as always, will have higher requirements with eye candy graphics. Moving target is hard to hit.

i thi8nk it will stabilise once we hit a resolution where you cant actually see the pixels anymore, i tested my sons g2 the other day and its MUCH better than my Vive, the vive i literally can count the R G and B pixels in front of me. id say 1.5-2X the screen resolution the G2 uses will be "enough" resolution, then the graphics cards jsut have to catch up.

Amazing new update, the new F1 car and especially in combination with the ERS system+DRS beep is a huge improvement. The new F1 car drives also better then the 2019 model.

Only 1 bug: The mirrors are stuck in VR for the new F1 car. This is also the case for the left mirror of the McLaren GT3 car (right works).
