Automobilista 2 V1.2.3.0 Update Released on Steam

Automobilista 2 August Update 01.jpg
Reiza Studios has updated Automoblista 2 to version 1.2.3.0, and added two new cars, improved Real Weather features and another round of fixes and improvements.

Automobilista 2’s August 2021 update is now live on Steam. In typical fashion, developer Reiza Studios has offered new, free content plus several other improvements and fixes to the racing sim.

The new content this month is a classic American muscle car in two flavours. The Chevrolet Corvette C3 has been added to both the Vintage Touring Car class as well as to the GT Classics Class in the "R" Spec to compete with the recently added Porsche RSR. The Corvette C3 was teased last month but was offered only to AMS2 beta users before this build.

Another significant improvement that has been added in this build is the addition of accurate environment temperatures in the Real Weather system. The Real Weather system in AMS2 allows users to select accurate current weather for track locations, and even historically accurate weather when past dates are chosen.

On the physics front, many of the cars have been given a tire tread adjustment to go with the potentially significant changes to the clutch inertia and tire tread fixes.

He was still completely guessing at the code and relying on the devs' documentation
How can you KNOW this? Stating as fact things I assume your not privy to. I'm not saying he did or didn't but how can you know Ian and Stefano didn't have a relationship somewhere along the line ? It's a pretty small community and all.

It seems he may have access to the Madness tyre model now, in case you don't know he is in the credits in AMS2 for car and track development ;)

Jackson Papageorgiou is? Really? I guess I will have to ask him myself. Are you perhaps mixing him up with Ilja?

EDIT: Yes, you are.

Maybe if you read my post again you will understand the meaning better. In simple terms, if Ian just took a look at the model that is available to the public, he would not have complete information about it because it's not fully open. Apologies if I wrote it in an unclear way.

Actually all DLC tracks in AMS2 are not single tracks. They usually have multiple layouts and often they have historic versions. Plus they only cost $9 not $14 but that also changes by market.

So really talking about pricing without discussing honestly about the content isn't a fair discussion

That's still a single track, and pricing here is $14.

You being butthurt doesn't make me dishonest chap.

Love those cheap people that figure everything is free. Lets not support anything because, well your cheap.

Ah, more butthurt logic.

I don't expect free, I expect value.

But at the end of the day the pricing model only hurts the game itself.

The best is the best, it's not an opinion it's a fact. For example, ACC got the best GT3's, period, doesn't matter if you prefer X or Y more.

Rfactor2 got their so called amazing tyres but that doesn't mean the best physics, if that was the case they would have the best GT3 game on the market. In the end ACC is better and Raceroom is just as good as rfactor.
"doesn't matter if you prefer X or Y" , its actually all about what you prefer, like any hobby.
pleasure is all subjective, there is no such thing as truth here.

Sure; and some do it as a profession. Some are more serious about it as their hobby and would like to be informed about the objective functioning of the mathematical programs. Not sure why a casual approach is the only right one.

Yes I was thinking that Ilja was also physics. Still a inside AMS2 guy who is certainly intouch with CSP physics guy could give an insight.

I don't need your patronising "simple terms" explanation, even after I re read your comment and even with your simple terms explanation i still get your stating fact about IB as if you have internal knowledge of his access. But after reading all your posts I guess you stating facts about just about anything isn't a surprise.
The only advantage Ian Bell would have is that he could input in parameters himself as a modder. He was still completely guessing at the code and relying on the devs' documentation and his own testing to figure out the code.

I just asked Jackson; he doesn't know anyone from AMS2 dev team. Please stop twisting things and pretending you have insider knowledge. How do you know that AMS2 devs are in touch with Jackson?

See how that sounds when someone else does it? :p

Nobody is claiming they're some kind of insider source, it's just a discussion.

I see value in getting current and multiple historic layouts of a track. I would much rather pay $14 for 4-5 layouts of a track that I can drive many many different class cars on than pay $9 for a single layout that I can drive a 1 or 2 classes on.
My butt only hurts from sitting in my rig for 6-8 hours a day driving any car I want on just about any track on the world, thanks to me being able to play and enjoy every sim available and not being so stubborn to enjoy what we have and not overlook a certain product because it may or may not have a feature or model I think it should.

Thank interesting, I would have thought people who work on the same mod would talk to each other. Maybe CSP just happens without discussion or communication.
That would explain "Jackson' not knowing Ilja.

I don't understand what you're trying to convey. Ilja just did some shader stuff for Reiza, it's not like he is considered a staff member in the AMS2 team. Jackson didn't have anything to do with that nor does Ilja doing some work for Reiza mean that he suddenly has access to the tire model.

I don't know what Ilja has access to just like you don't know what Ian Bell has/had access to ;) thanks for finally understanding my point even if you didn't realise you did until now.

Strange way to backpedal out of an embarrassing exchange, but alright.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, But I'm definitely doing some laps in AMS 2 tonight.

And good thing they have the original post that started the thread at the top of each page because I got so wrapped up in the ongoing conversations I completely forgot what the subject was in the first place.

Sure...whatever but re read my posts, it was always leading to this, if you got it earlier it wouldn't have been this difficult.
I still think you're just projecting things onto my posts. You even thought my actual clarification of my somewhat badly written post was supposed to be patronizing; it's really more about the reader than the author at this point.

Then again I've seen actual experts get attacked and smeared on RD and other simracing forums while people who go "Wrong, you are stupid" get celebrated so it must just be the way things are. Hell, I'm still waiting on a model which explains why my view on contact patch modeling is wrong like that some other commenter claimed. It's like threads eventually become arguments for the sake of argument without any kind of information exchange.
