iRacing.com has received another new update today, adding plenty of tweaks to the online racing simulation.

Having only just released the major June 6th build update and content deployment to iRacing, the American developers have been at it again with another slightly more compact update today, although frankly still pretty impressive in size in comparison to some of their sim racing rivals in the current gaming marketplace.

Not adding any new content to the title this time, the Season 3 Patch 1 update mainly focuses on fine tuning areas of the core simulation package and a number of the cars currently within the title. Highlights from today include some slight adjustments to the dynamic track settings, various tweaks and improvements to a number of the cars and of course some more fine tuning of the impressive visual effects around the new grass debris improvements introduced earlier this month.

iRacing Season 3 Patch 1 Release Notes

Connectivity
  • IPv6 network protocol connection fallback to IPv4 now occurs automatically.
  • When connecting the Simulation to an online session, the Simulation has the ability to use either the IPv4 or the IPv6 network protocol (assuming your computer and your network have IPv6 fully enabled). You may enable the Simulation's use of IPv6 on the Members website, in the "Settings" area of the central navigation bar. If you can move the "USE IPv6" Slider to On, and it stays there after refreshing the page, then your computer has IPv6 enabled, and the Simulation will prefer to use IPv6 when connecting to any of our race servers that also support IPv6. With this build, if the connection attempt to a race server failed using IPv6, the Simulation now automatically instead tries to use IPv4 to make the connection.
Race Control
  • Race Control will be tolerant of a small mistake if you touch or cross the race track surface while trying to stay down on the apron for pit exits.
Dynamic Track
  • The computations for the number of marbles created and picked up during track initialization has been adjusted to be more sensitive to the work being done by the tires.
Visual Effects
  • A new jumbotron animation has been added.
  • Fixed the appearance of distortion particles with Particle Detail set to Medium.
  • Adjusted the grass debris effect.
Audio
  • Backfires and gear shifting sounds for stockcars have been improved.
Peripherals
  • Fixed a possible crashing issue triggered by the Razer LED backlight when Chroma is not fully installed.
Telemetry
  • Colon characters will be automatically removed from user provided Session strings (such as from Team Names) to ensure code functionality.
  • A new telemetry Session string entry has been added: "DriverInfo:DriverCarEngCylinderCount:". This will tell you how many cylinders are in the vehicle engine.
Macros
  • The "L" and "R" commands have been added to the pit macro help string.
  • Type "#help" in the chat window to see a full list of the pit macros.

....I don't really understand these eternal hotfixes, that don't seems very "pro"... I'm an iracing guy, for sure, but this things starts to be too much...
@++

and jet again still no day and night transitions that's why iracing is a crappy sim al those dollars floating in by 55.000 members and the development of Rfactor 2 goes way faster now its in the hands of studio 397
I racing is a scam to robe us from our money just abandon this **** and get in to the real sim racing

Thanks for your useless opinion, I too have rf2 and agree the platform has a lot of potential but also a lot of issues and lacks content that interest me. So like ISI I too abandoned the the game.

They have already showed previews of day to night transition and said it was coming soon. What to complain about next no ai, new tire model?....lol....it's all coming!

Please explain to us how iracing is scam and robbing us of our money?

Expensive, yes for some.
But that's the choice of the user to purchase or not. Like everything in life there' s low priced items and expensive.
Ex.nvidia vs AMD, VW vs Audi

All the pricing and info for the service is posted on there website for you to read before making your potential purchase.

In the end, these sims are nothing more than video games. Play what YOU enjoy, but don't tell others what they should play ;)

still no day and night transitionsy .......................... just abandon this **** and get in to the real sim racing

Ahah,
You made my day mate :)
Why people wants "so much" day/night transition ? I mean, how many races in the world have a day/night transition ? (about 7-8, not more, and for all the world, in all series) ....
Talk about realism the more you want boy, it's funny :)
(cause seriously, you found tracks in rf2 realistics ? ahah, oh boy....)
I really like rf2, but too many bugs or issues, so bad tracks too...and a "non-friendly" comunity (too much fanboys, like in AC), hope this title will "at least" become the sims it should have been since 6 years...but for now, it's not the case :( ..until that, iracing have still my preference
@++

I think you're just trolling... but

Iracing is a little pedestrian in development but I think the quality of cars and tracks is the best in the business. No doubt when they release day to night it will also be pretty special. There isn't many events that will need it but they do run plenty of endurance events throughout the season, these will benefit massively from transitions.

so you guys think it's justified to tell day and night transitions are coming for over a year now with all that money coming in
I give you that point :) (it's the famous "soon")
Don't really understand why you talk so much about money (cause now every sim is about dlc for wich we have to pay...), but I could understand your arguments, hope I could see you on track one day, and have a good time
@++

So in this season Ferrari 488 GT3 is removed from IMSA or it's just a mistake? 488GT3 only is in VRS GT sprint/endurance now , i was happy to be able drive my 488Gt3 in 2 different series :(

  • Deleted member 205301

Yeah, it's remove from IMSA, to stay at 6 differents cars....(it was difficult to recognize the differencies between the 2 ferraris, GTE and GT3) hope that one day ("#soon") they will be abble to increase it..
